There is a gem of a trail here at Elysian Park called the Angel Loop! It's about 2.8 miles and takes around 1.5 hours to complete. This is a unique and great hike especially if you are trying to stay within the realm of Downtown LA. It really is an urban city hike as you can see the pile of cars on the freeway all around you. My favorite part of this hike is the hidden swing that overlooks the city. There is also a part of the hike towards the top that is all pavement that showcases the downtown LA skyline. It's captivating as if you were walking level towards the buildings. It looks like it can get populated at the bottom of the park with picnics as this park is next to dodger stadium. If you are looking for more of a isolated picnic experience, make sure to venture to the top. If you plan on doing the Angel Loop trail, the trailhead is on Stadium Way and Elysian Park Drive.
