Fanghu Shengjing Review

One of the 40 scenic spots of Yuanmingyuan, Fanghu Shengjing covers an area of about 20,000 square meters. Fanghu Shengjing was basically built in Qianlong three years (1738 AD), located in the northeast shore of Fuhai, east of Siyi Bookstore, north of Hanxulang Jianzhi. It is the most magnificent and beautiful building in the Summer Palace after the examination of many scholars in the future generations, and it is built on the theme of the fairy mountain pavilion in people's imagination.

Fanghu Shengjing is located in the Fuhai Scenic Area of Yuanmingyuan Ruins Park. It was originally a place for the Yuanmingyuan to sacrifice the sea god, meaning Qiongtai Xianshan. Later, the British and French arms burned the Yuanmingyuan and were destroyed. Now there are only ruins left.

The former wonderland of Fanghu Shengjing is now a wasteland and ruins of Fanghu Shengjing located on the northeast bank of Fuhai, Yuanmingyuan, built in 1740 (Qianlong five years), is the most beautiful building in Yuanmingyuan. It was originally a sacrifice of the sea god, and it is the only one in China's gardens. The architectural intention is based on the artistic conception of the Taoist "Xianshan Qiong Pavilion". The main building is a symmetrical layout, three groups of halls before and after, covered with yellow glazed tiles, reflecting on the water, like the Qionglou Yuyu of Xianshan. The entire landscape of Fanghu was burned down in October 1860 after being looted by the British and French forces. Today, the barren ruins are left with a large area of yellow land, and the piles of debris on the shore represent the glory of the past. From the West Building Scenic Area, go straight to a not very wide water surface, where is the square pot of the scenic spot, many people who study the Yuanmingyuan say that this was the most beautiful area in the park, because it was designed according to the expectations of the fairyland. But everything was once, and today it can only be imagined from three peninsula-shaped stone foundations stretching out to the water.
