It's a little away from other famous scenic spots in old city, but it also retains the quiet of the mosque, where you can feel the auspicious feeling of religion, and there will be a local open-air market next to Wednesday.

There's a market here every Wednesday. It's very busy. It's a great mosque. It's beautifully decorated. It's well decorated both inside and outside. Very lively.

This mosque is really great. You can feel history and its importance as soon as you walk into the mosque. It's a great interior decoration and a mosque carpet that I've seen so far.

Enormous. Ye another Sinan the architect' creations. This mosque is no stranger to tourists but less so than the Blue or Suleiman mosques.Sadly for us women we are not allowed on the expansive ground floor. Not ever, not just not during prayer times. Instead women are hand escorted to the second floor tony balcony. Great view for sure. But the difference in experience, access and treatment was not lost on me. Maybe women don't need to pray as much as men? Regardless it is gorgeous in its architecture, carpets, decorations. Definitely well worthy the trek.Note: Fatih is a conservative and traditional neighborhood so be respectful and cover up. You will see women with head scarves in this part of Istanbul along with black flowing robes and dresses. None of this cool, hip, chique fashion as in The posh parts of town.
