During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Chen Yuanbin, Xitang Village, Yangmei Town, Huazhou, went to Wuchuan to earn a living through this place. Because the water source is long, the lotus pond is surrounded by a ridge shaped like a lizard (frog, Wuchuan dialect: lizard), he settled here and named it Guling; the name of Guling Village came from this.
