Geyuan is the private garden of Huang Zhiyun, the salt merchant of Lianghuai in Qing Dynasty. To win with bamboo and stone, the word "Ge" in the name of the garden is also taken half of the word bamboo, which should be combined with all kinds of bamboo in the garden. Although the garden is small, it reflects the ingenuity of the gardeners everywhere. It is worth mentioning that the overlapping stone art of the garden, using different stones stacked into "spring, summer, autumn, winter" four sceneries, known as "Four Seasons Rockery", is an isolated case of Chinese gardens and one of the most famous gardens in Yangzhou.
