The Grand Palace, also known as the Palace of the Order of the Chiefs, is located in the center of Valletta, the capital, built between the 16th and 18th centuries and is the palace of the Chiefs of the Order of St. John, also known as the Palace of the Order of the Order of Malta. The British reign was the Governor-General's House and the seat of Malta's presidential palace and parliament after 1974. Part of the palace, the palace armoury, is open to the public as a museum of Maltese heritage. The presidential palace contains many portraits of European monarchs and knights, medieval knights and Kaijia. The armory in the palace contains more than 5,000 pieces of weapons and other equipment, which is an important cultural relics in the history of war and social development.
