The key cultural relics protection unit of the country was built in the 13th year of Ming Hongwu (1380 AD) Zhenhai Building, the first name of "Wanghai Building", Ming Jiajing years changed to "Zhenhai Building", meaning "Xiongzhen Haijiang". As a famous cultural landmark in Guangzhou, Zhenhai Building was selected as "China's famous historical and cultural building" in 2019. The main museum of Guangzhou Museum is located here. In 1929, the Guangzhou Municipal Museum (formerly the Guangzhou Museum) was opened in Zhenhai Building. This is the first museum in South China. It is the mission of "saving the dead and opening the people's wisdom", which is of great significance to the cultural development of Lingnan. After the founding of New China, the Guangzhou Museum gradually developed into a comprehensive geo-chip museum for collecting, researching, displaying and promoting Guangzhou's history and culture, with about 130,000 cultural relics and artworks (sets). In addition to the Zhenhai Building exhibition area, the Guangzhou Museum also includes the Zhongyuan Building exhibition area, the Sanyuanli People's Anti-British Struggle Memorial Hall, and the "Three-Second-Nine" Uprising Headquarters Memorial Hall.
