Baohe Hall was used differently in Ming and Qing dynasties. The emperor often changed his clothes here before the Ming Dynasty Grand Ceremony. When emperors set up queens and princes, the emperor received congratulations in this hall. Every year on New Year's Eve and the 15th day of the first lunar month in the Qing Dynasty, the Emperor gave banquets to foreign vassals, princes and twelve-grade ministers, and the scene was very spectacular. The banquet for the father of the prefecture, the family members with official duties and the examination for each discipline were held in Baohe Hall. At the end of each year, the Imperial Palace and the official department fill in the yellow books of imperial clan manchu, Mongolian army, Han Army and other provincial Han foreign vassals in Baohe Hall.
