The Hoffburgh Palace means the palace castle in German. The royal castle is located in the inner city of Vienna, where the Habsburg dynasty ruled the vast Austro-Hungarian Empire. The multi-ethnic state of the days of Emperor Franz Joseph I was recorded as the site of the German Holy Roman Emperor's residence until Emperor Franz I declared the dissolution of the Holy Empire in 1806. Today, it is the office of the President of the Federal Republic and is a "witness" to European architectural styles. Whether it is Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, or the classic style of the late last century, the Hofburg Palace brings them together. The palace covers an area of 240,000 square meters, with 18 buildings, 54 exits, 19 courtyards and 2,900 rooms, known as the "city in the city".
