Legendary Jaisalmer fort is one of the rare living forts of 21st century. I found myself staying in the fort castle of Thar desert, it is truly amazing experience, like overnight staying in Great Wall of China (although I had never been there yet.).

The former palace, which has been converted into a museum, also displays a number of historic exhibits while fully preserving the previous architectural pattern. The castle is separated by narrow, low walkways and stairs into different areas, and some spacious areas are arranged into exhibition halls. Outside the castle walls are a paradise for pigeons.

Jaisalmer Fort is a landmark monument in the heart of the city. covering a huge expanse, this architectural marvel is a live fort filled with local shopkeepers selling their wares and people living inside the fort. One can spend a couple of hours here.

    1. Jaysermel is a desert city only 70 kilometers from the Pakistan border; 2. When you walk through the castle area and the outskirts of the city, almost all the buildings are goose-yellow or rustic-yellow walls, reflecting the illusory "golden" in the sunshine, you will surely admit that "golden city" is the only castle that can be inhabited;3. Jaysermel Castle is the only castle that can be inhabited. Full of fireworks, I live on the top floor of a residential building, open the window and look out of the city, 30 square meters of room, with independent bathroom, 70 rupees a day, about 7. The off-season house prices here are horribly cheap, it is estimated that we will never encounter such a cheap house price again; 4. But the restaurant prices here are twice as expensive as those in other cities in Rajasthan, which makes me. Think of Dunhuang; 5. There is a palace in the castle area, which has now been decorated into a museum. It displays furniture, paintings, gold and silver articles and collections of Royal nobles, but almost every local resident will advise you not to spend the wrongful money, because the quality and grade of the exhibits are ordinary, not worth 500 rupees.

Jaisalmer is a fortress town on the middle of the desert in Rajasthan, India. Very close to the Pakistani border. Scenically looks like something out of some old "1001 Nights" type story. But it is very touristy, and there are a lot of scams and dishonest people around, so ne careful!

I like this castle very much. Although it is not as tall as the Melangar Castle in Jodhpur because of its terrain, it is also amazing. And unlike other castles, when you enter the gate of the castle, you will find that the castle is alive, and people still live in it, open shops, open hotels, or live here by themselves. People come in and out from the city gate, daily life, here is the continuation of ancient cities. Only the city palace has now been changed into a museum, and the places where the princes lived are now available for visitors.
