Located on Montjuïc hill, the city's botanical gardens are surrounded by the olympic village. Covering 14 hectares, they contains over 4,000 species of plants from five regions of the world including the Mediterranean, California, central Chile, South Africa and Australia. At €3,50 per person, it's fairly good value for money and makes for a great afternoon out - what's more - kids go free. The only downside is that there isn't much shade, so you may not want to go on a very hot day.
