Chaozhou Kaiyuan Temple is located on Kaiyuan Road, Chaozhou City. Formerly known as the Peak Temple, it was built in Kaiyuan 26 years (738), and the Yuan Dynasty was changed to "Kaiyuan Wanshou Temple". The Ming Dynasty said: "Kaiyuan Town Guochan Temple", commonly known as Kaiyuan Temple has been used to this day. To bless the monarch and preach the law and order of the government for the past dynasty. With the spacious place, the palace is spectacular, the sacred statue is solemn, the cultural relics are numerous, the incense is full of fame, it is the first ancient temple in the eastern Guangdong region, and it has the reputation of "million people's blessings, 3,000 world jungle". The whole monastery retained the layout of the Tang Dynasty, and condensed the architectural art of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and the incense was full. During the Cultural Revolution, Kaiyuan Temple was seriously damaged. In 1982, overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao donated funds to carry out comprehensive maintenance, so that Kaiyuan Temple could recreate its former style. On June 25, 2001, it was listed as the fifth batch of key cultural relics protection units nationwide.
