What a totally unique and sobering experience. I've never really toured a jail (I don't think...at least clearly not one that was memorable), and this one sets the bar quite high. As the granddaughter of Irish immigrants, I found the prison to be such a haunted, tortured place with such a sad story to tell of the troubled and corrupted Irish history. If you're at all interested in Irish history from the late 1800s (and the Republic political movement), I recommend a tour here. It was worth the price of admission for what I learned alone.
