Fort Carré, or Fort Antib, was built in the mid-16th century. The castle is in a four-corner star shape, with the four-corner protrusion to strengthen the fortress's defenses and gradually expand outside the main structure. The castle provides a strong defense for the port of Vobon, with 18 cannon guns in the city wall cannon eyes. Marshal Vobon presided over the design of the reinforcement of the entire fortress.
