Shijiazhuang Dashiqiao is located in the center of Shijiazhuang, on the northeast side of the intersection of Dashi Road and Kilometer Street, north of Shijiazhuang Liberation Monument. Dashiqiao was built in 1907, with a total length of 150 meters, a height of 7 meters, a width of 10 meters, a total of 23 holes; the bridge is all limestone masonry, the slope is flat; there are two stone lion sculptures on both sides of the bridge. After the opening of the Zhengtai Railway (now Shitai Railway) designed and built by the Qing Dynasty government's "debt-borrowing official camp" and the French "railway construction and transportation company" in September 1907, the Zhengtai, Beijing and Han railways paralleled, and there were Zhentou and Shijiazhuang two stations coexist. The urban area was naturally divided into east and west parts. There are many vehicles and pedestrians, and they must pass the railway, which brings great inconvenience to East-West transportation. Railway staff and representatives from all walks of life went to the French headquarters of the Zhengtai Railway Bureau and asked for a joint venture to build bridges. Construction began in the spring of 1907, and the bridge across the Zhengtai Railway was built in the autumn. The train passed under the bridge and pedestrians walked from the bridge. Before the Japanese army captured Shijiazhuang in 1937, the aircraft were dispatched to carry out multiple indiscriminate bombings, and the south side of the two-hole bridge hole on both sides of the middle section of Dashiqiao was bombed. On October 1, 1939, the Japanese completed the construction of the narrow rail of the Zhengtai Railway to the standard rail, and the Zhengtai Railway was removed from the station to the north, and the Dashiqiao lost its traffic function after the demolition of the rail. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Liu Ying, the 32nd division of the Kuomintang stationed in Shijiazhuang, made Dashiqiao a military command post. Dashiqiao is the earliest railway cross-bridge in Shijiazhuang City, is a symbolic building of old Shijiazhuang, with historic commemorative significance, in 1987, the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Shijiazhuang, with the original attitude to repair Dashiqiao, as an important cultural relics to protect. Although the Dashiqiao has stopped using it now, it has a special significance in the hearts of the people of Laoshijiazhuang as a proof that the working class first demonstrated their solidarity and struggle.
