The church has been around for more than 300 years, dating back to 1588. It was used as a war command fortress by the British army when it was invaded by the British colonial war in 1753 and occupied Manila in 1762. The Catholic Church in the Philippines is also popular with 68 Catholics, and it is crowded with devout churches every Sunday evening.
