The Manoa Heritage Center is usually open only to school groups for tours, but you can also call ahead to reserve a private docent-guided tour of the partly reconstructed Hawaiian heiau (temple) and next-door ethnobotanical garden. If you've got spare time, sit down at the lava-rock board and learn how to play konane, a Hawaiian version of checkers.
