Founded in 1955, the Miami Seaquarium is the oldest oceanarium in the US. It is a must see for everyone who wants to explore close up what kind of fish and animals the surrounding ocean world has to offer. One of the main attractions is the orca whale Lolita - target of harsh criticism by animal rights activists but also star for many Miami school children and tourists who squeal with laughter when they get splashed by this humongous creature. Next to the animal shows, Seaquarium also offers close up encounters with dolphins and seals, the underwater walking tour Sea Trek Reef Encounter, a splash playground and Sharky’s Sky Trail, a climbing course overlooking the other attractions.
