The eastern fjord of the Tasman Sea, also known as the Mifo fjord (Milford Sound, Maori Piopiotahi), means "first wild thrush" in Maori (First Native Thrush). It is located in the fjord national park in the southwestern island of new zealand, formed during the ice age, the deepest part of the fjord is 265 meters away from the mit peak. Maori people believe that the fjord was created by a powerful blacksmith named tutilakifanua. He carved out the cliffs and magnificent foothills of Milford fjord with a magic axe.
