Far away from the Touristy area of Sultanahmet, the military museum is a huge building with tools/armor/ guns dating back to the Hun period (~500B.C.). Located in Sisli area, it gives you a feel of how the rest of Istanbul lives their daily lives. Very well put together museum as all of the rooms are put together based on Tribe, Time Period and Type of military gear. There are a lot of interactive maps to show how tribes moved and changed, as well as the growth of the ottoman empire. Also at 3pm everyday they have a free performance of a traditional Ottoman military marching band. The museum is Open everyday from 10 to 5pm and entrance is up to 10TL

You can see a lot of ancient weapons here. They are very rich in things. The price is really cheap. You can go shopping when you have time.

There are quite a number of medieval army clothes, weapons, and tents for expropriation, which are relatively novel.

The Museum of Military Affairs can come here to look at the data of several patriotic wars in Turkey. Many of the military equipment here are relatively traditional. There are also many exhibition areas of cold weapons. Turkey's long knife is very characteristic.
