The Mimara Museum is one of the most famous art museums in Croatia. There are 3700 different works of art in the museum, of which more than 1500 are permanent exhibits. These works cover almost every historical period from prehistoric to 20th century. They are comprehensive and representative. The art works of the Mimara Museum mainly include the works of the famous Italian painter Raffaello in the Renaissance, Giorgione in the Renaissance, Michelangelo in the late 16th century and early 17th century, Merisi and De Caravaggio, etc. Sixty works by famous Dutch painters Van Goyen, Jacob & Leibl, Van Goyen, Ruisdael, 30 by famous Spanish painters Vel & zquez and Murillo, 20 by famous German painters Holbein and Leibl, and 30 by British painters Konsbo. Gainsborough, Bonington and other famous painters, as well as 120 works from French painters such as Georges de la Tour, Boucher and Delacroix.
