The Monsopiad Cultural Village is a museum that highlights the culture and history of the Kadazan tribe from the Penampang area. Located next to the Penampang River, this instituition was named after Monsopiad, a fearless warrior who lived about 200 years ago. Visitors can participate in various activities such as learning how to use the traditional blowpipe, which was used in the olden days to hunt for food and kill enemies. There are also exhibitions in different buildings, the most famous being the House of Skulls whereby 42 human skulls hunted by Monsopiad himself are proudly hanging from the rafters.
