One of the few attractions in Barranquilla, it is also the first regional museum in Colombia. Located on the south side of the city. The whole museum has about five floors, each with different themes, and the theme around it is the Colombian Caribbean culture. There is a section dedicated to Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the Nobel Prize winner who was born and lived in Barranquilla and throughout the Caribbean. Free explanations are available at designated times of day, but all exhibits are in Spanish, and you can feel the atmosphere if you don't mind the language barrier.

I was surprised by this museum. It doesn't seem like much, but it does have very good exhibits and information about Colombian Caribbean culture, how it emerged from the cultural conflicts between African Europe and Amerindians? I absolutely loved the videos of every indigenous tribe on the coast of the country. The guide Sergio was very attentive and knowledgeable and answered every question I had. I highly recommend visiting this museum.

All content is only Spanish, no English. I don't know if there has been improvement in the past few years. It is a complete introduction to the historical and cultural traditions of the Caribbean region. Very interesting.

The black glass curtain wall on the front uses the combination of outer beams and concrete wall zigzag structure, which is very modern in the city and has become the most famous modern landmark in the local area. Some Spanish documents and videos, even folk instruments are great exhibits, and it is the most humanized science education base in the Colombian coast
