The National Antiquities Bureau of Singapore (National Heritage Board) was formed on August 1, 1993 by the merger of the National Antiquities Bureau with the National Archives, National Museums and the Department of Oral History. It is a statutory body under the Ministry of Culture. Its mission is to preserve Singapore's diverse cultural heritage. This is to carry out cultural education and nation building, and thus to make its culture recognized globally.
