In the 17th and 18th centuries, Vietnamese tourists were mostly native tourists. Today, the majority of foreign tourists are Europeans and Japanese. In Southeast Asia, only Bangkok and Hong Kong have direct flights, and there are few Asian tourists outside Japan.
