Old City Riga (Vecriga) Review

Latvia's capital Riga has many attractions, although not very well known, in the Soviet era Riga was an important city on the Baltic coast, and now its importance as the capital is reflected.

Riga is a famous tourist city in the Baltic Sea and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The houses are low, the streets are narrow, and the roofs are multi-red tiles. The old town is not big, and there are medieval buildings everywhere. The rhythm is very soothing. In addition, Latvians have very limited English, and there are very few Asian or Chinese tourists here. It is easy to be invisible wherever you go. The tourists are mainly Europeans, mostly from Sweden and Germany, and there are also Russians. The Baltic Sea also splits Riga City in two, with the old Riga City with red roofs and the new Riga with reinforced concrete. 

The old town in Riga with snow is absolutely worth to visit once during winter .

I like the relaxing atmosphere of the city, playing live music in squares, bars and restaurants. In the summer months, you would definitely recommend a long weekend in the city. Young Latvians know customer service and are keen on chatting and practicing their English, while older generations seem less enthusiastic and almost "cautious". We visited several restaurants in the old city. Everything was good, but not exquisite. We found the new architecture of new art enjoyable.
