The Old Governor's Palace in Brisbane is a Victorian-style building built in 1860 and 1862. It is one of the most famous historical sites in Brisbane and the best window to understand the early colonial history of Queensland. The old governor's residence is not far from the CBD downtown, and it's right at the end of George Street. It is located in the Garden Corner Campus of Queensland University of Science and Technology. If you walk from the South Bank Park, you can cross the Lucky Bridge. The Old Governor's Palace not only has a long history, but also is the famous place where Laminton Cake was invented in Lemington, Australia. The attraction is adjacent to the Botanical Garden and Queensland University of Science and Technology, and is completely free of charge. It is a good place for visitors to know Brisbane.

Lovely building, great art - the best Lamington! The house is beautifully restored and free to enter. There's a lovely collection of William Robinson painthing upstairs, with very friendly and informative staff ready to share knowledge (thank you Joseph!). Finally, the cafe is lovely and has THE BEST Lamington I've ever had (fitting as this is the home of the cake!) Thank you!

Three volunteers greeted our group at the concierge, who accompanied us into the house for morning tea and showed us a videotape that gave us an insight into the history of the house. Then we visited the house and gardens and spent about two hours before leaving, then met with the Governor.

Brisbane Open Day weekend was cold and humid, but that didn’t stop us from booking a trip to Government House. The building was grand and low-key and it felt very warm. The Governor personally greeted each tour group, which was great. Our guide explained the history of the building, it was a history of various residents as well as many items, furniture and functions in the room. We were allowed to take any photos we wanted and enjoyed our visit very much. I would recommend anyone interested in Brisbane and its history to visit. Set aside enough time to get there. There is no public transport at the door and parking spaces are very limited. We parked our car in the city and then took Uber to the building, and when he put us at the door, it worked well.

There aren't many visitors inside, just take a picture of the building. Tourist Consulting Center is on the first floor of the building. At first glance, it still feels spectacular.

Brisbane landmark attractions 🏛 158-year-old old government residence ❤️ Moke Travel takes you to punch in the landmark attractions of the ANZ region ~ City halls in major Australian cities are all ancient buildings with a typical Victorian style. It is also a landmark attraction for tourists to visit Australia. 🏛 and Brisbane has two municipal buildings, one of which is an old municipal building, and has no office of the city hall, but has become a cultural heritage that is free to open to the public. 🏛 The old government residence is located in the heart of Brisbane, within the Garden Corner Campus of the Queensland University of Technology, adjacent to the Brisbane City Botanical Garden. 🏛 The old government mansion was built in 1862 and is a typical Victorian-style building and the most important cultural heritage in Queensland. 🏛 After a renovation of AUD 15 million, the old government mansion is open to the public for free as a museum, and is a good place for local residents and foreign tourists to visit and learn about the local colonial history of Queensland. 🏛 In addition to displaying the colonial history of Kunzhou, the old government residence also exhibits many art works by outstanding Kunzhou artists, including one exhibition hall that specializes in the artist life and works of Kunzhou native artist William Robinson. 🏛 The old government house is still the venue for most large-scale events in Brisbane city. Its antique architectural style adds a touch of retro charm to each event. For example, last year's Brisbane Fashion Festival, the front square of the entire government building is fashionable. The show is particularly interesting. 🏛 In addition, with the retro architectural style, the old government mansion has become a popular wedding photo shoot and wedding venue. New people like to leave a beautiful memorial of love in the retro arcade in the mansion. The rotating buckle inside the house has also become a favorite photoshoot place for newcomers. 🏛 Sunlight falls through the retro glass on mottled stones, creating a very charming light and shadow. 📍 Address: 2B George Street, Brisbane🕘 Time: Closed on Saturday, 10am-4pm🎫 Tickets: Free travel with ink, travel Australia & New Zealand, unlock different local experience games, customize your unique free travel.
