The highest height in Warsaw, with a total height of 234 meters, was built by the Soviet Union and presented to Warsaw with a strong Soviet architectural style. It is a landmark in Warsaw known as "Stalin's Syringe" or "Russian Wedding Cake". But such a beautiful building is completely inconsistent with the old city style in the distance of the surrounding new city. Warsaw Palace of Science and Culture is a typical Soviet/Socialist building. It is rectangular, large and practical. Besides that, this Palace of Culture is a “gift” (or was levied, I am not sure), and the Soviet Union (or Stalin) gave to Poland. It is home to some skyscrapers of the time, the whole building is very novel and beautiful. The best part of this cultural palace is its observation deck (for me the best in Warsaw), located on the 30th floor. Really, you can see the most important places in Warsaw (old town, new town, river, sports center, etc.) and the skyscrapers around the Cultural Palace. Be sure to go there when you go to Warsaw!! There are souvenir shops and restaurants on the first floor.

Huge monumental building you can’t miss right in the center of Warsaw. It’s right next to the main train station and is a testament of the city’s socialist past.
