It's actually the Palace Tiradentes, and it was built between 1922 and 1926 on the same spot that Joaquim Jose da Silva was hanged. DaSilva was Brazil's Thomas Paine, but unlike Paine, DaSilva paid for it with his life. During his trial, Da Silva was sneeringly referred to as the "Tiradentes" which means "tooth-puller."

Just in time for May 1st to do an exhibition of the democratic process, it is Portuguese. I asked the staff, only one staff member can speak Spanish, but it is not very good, so I decided to choose English interpretation. Our English escort is estimated to be 20 years old, although with an accent, but the people are very cute. The exhibition was originally intended for tourists to see it for themselves, and he explained it to me in English throughout the whole process.

This is a place to look at Brazilian history. This building has a strong European architectural style. It was once the seat of the Congress and the Legislative Center. The exhibition tells the story of what happened here. There are English explanations at the door to understand some of the general, if you understand Portuguese, you can get a more detailed understanding of this period of history.
