In 1714, Peter the Great bought part of her summer territory from his widow in 3500 Taylor (silver coins that played an important role in European currency circulation and international trade in the 16th and 19th centuries) and turned it into national property. The original house on this land was renovated and became the residence of the Czar. Now it is the famous "Peter's Cabin". This humble house is very suitable for overnight rest and easy to enjoy the picturesque scenery around, but because of its small size and simple decoration, the house does not meet its purpose. So later Peter the Great ordered the construction of the Kadriorg Palace.
