Placa Thoroughfare (Stradun) Review

Catalonia is the main street of Dubrovnik, Croatia. The limestone pedestrian street runs through the old town, about 300 meters from the old town, which is surrounded by Dubrovnik city walls. The avenue became the city's main thoroughfare in the 13th century, and its current appearance was largely created after the devastating earthquake of 1667, before the quake, when houses on both sides of the street were not designed as uniformly as they are today, many of them with arcades and fine decorations. Following the earthquake of 1667 and the fires that followed, the Republic of Lagusa passed a law that laid out the layout of all future homes built in the city. Therefore, all 17th century houses arranged along the avenues have the same. Many of Dubrovnik's historic buildings and monuments follow both sides of Catalonia Avenue, a popular avenue square for tourists.

Praza Avenue is a main road in Dubrovnik's old town. After visitors enter the Pile Gate and climb up the wall, you can see the towering bell tower. On both sides of the street are shops and coffee shops, walking on the smooth, mirror-like stone road, as if back to the Middle Ages.
