Place Antonin Poncet is a beautiful square with much historical significance for Lyon. Standing from one end (the river end) and look into the interesting landscaping with the basilica in the background makes for a nice photo op. There are several restaurants and cafes to enjoy this view along the square.

    5/5Outstanding

Not far from Place Bellcour you can see a Bell Tower and the entrance to Place Antonin-Poncet. This beautiful town square has fountains, grassy areas and a colourful sculpture of a flower bouquet. It’s a great space to relax, have a picnic or simply people watch. On one side you get a spectaclur view of the Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvieve up on the hill and on the other it’s just a few steps to the Rhone River.
