This was actually an excellent museum. It has some great pictures of KK from the 1950s, showing how the waterfront was extended out of the reef. It then has some great exhibits on Sabah from went it was ruled by the Sultan of Brunei and then the Sultan of Sulu to the concessions made for logging and trade, and then the hard period it went through during World War II when the Japanese brutally occupied it. Some great artifacts and videos in there. It also has a pretty cool natural history museum on the upper level. The gardens are not that great, but there is a very cool suspension bridge over the pond you should check out.
