Sant Pau del Camp Review

Another free attraction in Barcelona, it’s a pity that most tourists seem to overlook Sant Pau del Camp. Because this little church – the oldest one in the city – holds some really special secrets. Monks have lived here throughout the ages, and the aura of peace that still holds sway makes this Romanesque complex a welcome way to escape the life that rides on rough-shod in the surrounding district of the Raval. One tip: ask for Jordi, and if you’re very lucky, he may even sing some Gregorian chant especially for you.

Even though it was then reformed in the 13th century to give it its Roman style that can be appreciated today.
