Basilica of Saint Pudentiana Review

You will understand that it has two Christian histories and arts, founded in the 2nd century A.D.

The Christian church still has a wonderful mural (with a cross) in the arched space above the main temple altar. The bell tower outside is very magnificent, and the corridor inside looks very narrow and has a very high void because of the narrow width. A lot of stone carvings adorn the edges and portray the characters very well.

Santa Pudenziana is probably the oldest Christian church in Rome. It doesn’t look interesting at all from the outside, and inside it’s pretty plain, but the main attraction here are the 4th century mosaics (they have been restored). The mosaics (considered to be the oldest in Rome) are very impressive and colorful, they depict some religious scene. It’s worth a stop for sure, especially if you are visiting Santa Maria Maggiore (short walk from there).
