Home since 1994 to MI6, the British Foreign Intelligence Service, and a building fans of James Bond films will immediately recognise. A little historical footnote: the building stands on the site which was Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, from the mid 17th to mid 19th Century. The Gardens were a famous public entertainment space, featured in Thackeray's 'Vanity Fair' and 'Pendennis', and Thomas Hardy's 'The Dynasts'.
