Southeast Asia Mechanic Anti-Japanese Monument Review

The famous local patriotic education base, located on the bank of Dianchi Lake, is beautiful in the Xishan Scenic Area. It is built to commemorate the tens of thousands of Nanyang overseas Chinese who returned to China to fight during the War of Resistance Against Japan.

During the Anti-Japanese War, the Yunnan-Burma Highway was the lifeline, assembling, repairing vehicles, training drivers and repairing personnel were scarce. At the call of Mr. Chen Kageng, more than 3,000 overseas Chinese mechanics abandoned their good living conditions abroad and joined the Nanyang Overseas Chinese Engineer Service Corps and devoted themselves to the anti-Japanese and salvation service. More than 1000 Nanqiao mechanics devoted their lives to the main artery of the Yunnan-Burma Highway. This is introduced on the monument.
