You must walk on this pier! You will get amazing view of Melbourne and in the end you will find penguins (at evening)!

St. Kilda Pier shows off the best of Melbourne's most famous beach neighborhood. The best time to go is right before sunset so that you can walk all the way out to the end and see the colony of fairy penguins return for the evening. (Forget Phillip Island, you can find a mini-version for as cheap as a tram ride to St. Kilda).

The best thing in the St Kilda mule is the community of pinguins that made the corner of their home. That's the best thing to do, you have to have luck and go on a day when they really want to show themselves. Obviously, in winter it's easier but there are people who can see it in other times. It is free and there are people working in the shelter that explains the whole story and behavior of the pinguins and that's great.
