The Jesuit Church, a Catholic church founded after the new rise of Christianity, was banned by many European countries by the 18th and 19th centuries. The Jesuit church was built in the 17th century and is about 26 meters high, and can be easily seen from the top of the city hall to the west. The Austrian Empire banned Jesuit activities in the mid-nineteenth century and the church was no longer used for religious purposes. It was reopened in 2012 for visitors, including its basement.
