The stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in the western suburbs of Naples, Italy. The stadium is the third largest football stadium in Italy, after the San Siro and the Rome Olympic Stadium. The stadium is currently used for football games, the home stadium of Serie A Naples Football Club. The stadium was built in 1959 and was rebuilt in 1989 to host the 1990 World Cup. During the 1990 World Cup, the stadium in Sao Paulo hosted four matches, including Italy's semi-final against Argentina.
