Sun Yat Sen Museum Penang Review

I didn't expect to meet Mr. Sun Yat-sen's Penang Base Memorial Hall in Penang, in a foreign country, and recorded Mr. Zhongshan's experience of exile here. It is very meaningful and worth visiting!

Incredibly special museumI must admit, I didn''t know who Sun Yat Sen was before walking into this special museum. I had know idea he was a leader of the Chinese Revolution or that he lived in Malaysia. After visiting this Museum, I understood so much more of Malaysian and Chinese history. The gentleman that is the docent was filled with anecdotes. He was a terrific storyteller. Even if Sun Yat Sen wasn''t as significant to the world as he was, just seeing this well preserved home told so much about the area''s development and growth.

Sun Yat-sen is a living place in Penang. His exile here is also a very important experience for Sun Yat-sen. The memorial is quite fun. It is very classical architecture and retains the original layout. Sun Yat-sen is also very famous here.

Sun Yat-sen Penang Base Memorial Hall is near the Mural Street. Its facade is not big and there is no obvious sign outside, so it is difficult to find it. Ticket 5 is required for the visit. Here, many historical materials about Mr. Zhongshan's preparations for launching the revolution are displayed. There are many furniture and daily necessities with historical traces. Very valuable.

It took a long time to find it. After entering, it rained heavily and could only shelter in the doorway. The waiter from the next library came out and talked with us about Malay and domestic affairs, which made the rain pass quickly. After listening, it was not easy for the Chinese in Malay.

Sun Yat-sen Penang Base Memorial Hall is decorated with traditional Chinese furniture and antiques. Most of the real interest is in the written materials on the wall. It provides a lot of information about Sun Yat-sen and the revolution he led. There are free donation boxes. The curator is very enthusiastic and likes chatting. He will take photos for you.

A two-storey independent small yellow house with a brown plaque at the door introduces the history and origin of the Penang base memorial hall in Sun Yat-sen. There aren't many tourists today. Maybe it's the reason for Baiwu. There may be more tourists on weekends.
