We stayed at the Regional Park during the Easter holidays and it was a fantastic place. There are miles of beaches and dunes, as well as caves and rock pools for exploring. Wildlife is everywhere, lots of birds roam around, and even some elusive kiwi birds, which is why the gates are closed at night. Stars are bright and the night is clear. Rangers and volunteers are very helpful and willing to provide some information. There are plenty of walking around the park, which is close to the town of Matakana.

It was an amazing place to visit. The beach was great and great for swimming. There were lots of picnics and lots of good options for hiking. There were ice cream vendors and toilets (including a dressing area). The set was beautiful and there were lots of birds to see. It's a great place to travel.
