Tharabha Gate Review

Taraba Gate (Tharabha Gate) is the only gate that has been retained to this day among the 12 gates of Bagan. The Gate of Teraba (Tharabar Gate) was built in the 9th century AD, the main entrance of the east wall of the Bagan king city of Pyinbya, the only building left to date in that period. The word "Tharabar" is derived from the ancient Indian Pali language of "Sarabhanga", "shield of arrows", and the gate is guarded by ghosts, the left side of the gate is the brother "king of the mountains", and the right side is the sister "golden face". According to the tour guide, there is a secret passage next to the city wall, and royal personnel can escape from here to the canal at a critical juncture.
