Pompeii is an ancient city in Campania region, southwest of the Apennines Peninsula, built in the 6th century BC, located in southern Italy, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius southeast. The ancient city of Pompeii was destroyed in the Great eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, but due to the ash buried, the street houses are relatively complete, providing important information for archaeological understanding of ancient Roman social life and cultural art.
