While I can relate to comments from some who know the Big Pineapple in its heyday, the truth is that at the heart of the current experience is Wildlife HQ, a zoo formed by the closure of the Alma Park Zoo. Yes, the big pineapple building at the top of the building was empty and sparsely populated. However, after buying tickets and taking a five-minute old sugarcane train to the lower part of the valley, we were blown away by the quality of the zoo. Great advantage - lots of trees are maintained so it is a cool space for visitors and animals, the animal compounds are well prepared and maintained, easy to get close to all animals, the zoo staff is friendly and informative, The staff at the cafe (in the area above the ticket and inside the zoo) are all that. r) Friendly, simple and delicious food and drinks. We strolled along the beautifully laid out paths, enjoying the animals and the tranquil environment. In short, this medium-sized zoo is a hidden secret, I would say, for families with young children and elderly, This is an ideal choice as they will encounter more difficulties negotiating a large, expansive (tiring) environment at a larger zoo, and the train driver tells us the big pineapple will gradually return to its former glory and more. However, we will be happy to be back again, even before the expansion, to enjoy this delightful zoo.
