The Chinese Art Palace, which was rebuilt from the China National Pavilion of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, opened on October 1, 2012 with a total floor area of 166,800 square meters, exhibition area of nearly 70,000 square meters, 35 exhibition halls, public education space of nearly 20,000 square meters, and supporting derivative services of 3,000 square meters. Its main building is located at 205 Shangnan Road, Pudong New Area, adjacent to Metro Line 7 and 8, with convenient transportation. The Chinese Art Palace is a modern art museum integrating public welfare and academics. It has the basic functions of collecting and keeping, academic research, exhibition, popularization of education and foreign exchange. It adheres to the principle of being based in Shanghai, working hand in hand with the whole country and facing the world. Since the opening of the exhibition, we have gradually established a government-led "three sessions in one" operation framework, which includes decision-making by the Council, auditing by the Academic Committee and supporting by the Foundation, referring to the experience of the International Museum of Art. With the goal of creating a clean, beautiful, friendly, honest and intellectual art museum, the Chinese Art Palace, based on the collection of State-owned Art units in Shanghai, exhibits art treasures reflecting the origin and development of modern and contemporary Chinese art all the year round, works representing the highest level of Chinese art creation in the national art circle, and works of Art representing the highest level of Chinese art creation in the world. Exhibiting the fine works of modern and contemporary art in various countries has become the center of the dissemination of classical Chinese modern and contemporary art and the cultural exchange between East and West. At the same time, the museum also has art theatre, art education corridor and other art education dissemination areas, the introduction of catering, books, works of art and other ancillary derivative services consistent with the overall cultural image of the museum, and actively create the "art service complex" concept of cultural services.
