Situated on Chengdu Street opposite Ximen MRT Station, Ximen Red Building is the first officially built public market in Taipei and the oldest and most complete historic building preserved at present. The import of the market adopts "eight hanging models" which means that the eight sides are gathered together; the main body of the market is "cross models", which is the first case in the history of East and West architecture.
