In the second century BC, Bai Jiameng flourished for a while. Under the inspiring rule of ruler Yumenos II, he built a huge library, shrine, and the steepest ancient Roman theater in the world on the hillside, and built an original famous medical center. It made Baijiameng a highly civilized city of science, art, culture, academic and medical sciences, comparable to Alexandria in Egypt at the same time.
