In the 16th century, Monterosso built 13 towers to resist the invaders at sea, and today there are few left. Aurora Tower is one of them, towering on the foothills of the divided village, also known by locals as the "Tower on the Sea Peak". Today, the tower is a private property that cannot be visited. If you want to see it up close, you can follow the small road next to the tunnel and feel the vast sea view standing at the sharp corner of the cliff.
