The "Turku Castle" far from "Turku Church" is located at the mouth of the lower Ora River. It is a military defensive castle. At that time, Turku belonged to Swedish territory. It was once the palace where Swedish kings came to Finland. Up to 14 Swedish kings came to live there. The castle was later destroyed in World War II and repaired after the war. The New Castle part of the castle is currently the site of the Turku Museum.
